The Tethyan System is geologically the most recent mountain system in the world. The mountain system in both Europe and Asia combined together is known as Eurasian Alpine Mountain System. This system extends in Europe and Asia from west to east for several hundred kilometers traversing from Spain to Java. There are series of major mountain chains which include Pyrenees, Alps, Carpathins, Balkan mountain in Europe and the Trans- Caucasus, the Hindu Kush, the Himalaya, the Karakoram, the Tien Shan and the Kunlun mountain of Asia together with various adjacent chains in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, China, Bhutan and Myanmar. From Assam this system runs in the southerly direction by the name of Mismi, Patkai, Chin, Lushi hill and Naga in East India and Arkanyoma range in Myanmar ( Fig.1). From there, the system does not remain continued but becomes the disrupted chain represented by the islands along the south west coast of Sumatra. The Tauras, Zagros, Pontic and Elebuz are also the alpine mountain ranges of West Asia. The Alpine Mountain belt of Asia is thus the continuation of Eurasian Alpine Mountain System. There are a number of plateaus also. Antolia and Tibet are the important plateaus bounded by mountain ranges and the Pamir and the Armenia have existed as the knots from where ranges have spread out. The Himalaya, Karakoram and Hindu Kush have been considered as the most important mountain ranges of South Asia. Online Film izle - mirc indir
